The Jersey Access Group (JAG) is a professional organization that unites municipalities, access channels, non-profit organizations, schools and universities and content providers in a mission to improve communications to the people they serve. JAG advises, advocates, and educates in the areas of technology, legislation, and regulation impacting multiple media platforms. JAG actively analyzes and addresses emerging issues in areas such as cable franchising; local government internet and communication policies; broadband deployment; and legislative changes that will impact local governments. JAG advocates for the continuing right to access hyper local news, information and communication via public, educational and government media.
JAG produces an annual conference and technology showcase specifically designed for the needs of your local communication infrastructure and supporting technology. The highlights of this extensive event include: panels that track legislation that relates to municipal communications, exhibits from equipment suppliers, and workshops that cover a variety of topics of interest to those who are responsible for communicating with their residents.
